Americans Are Not Eating Enough Fruits and Vegetables
September 10th 2010 -

According to the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report for September 10, Americans aren't eating nearly enough fruits and vegetables.
In the said report, it was stated that:
- only 32.5% of adults in the U.S. ate fruit two or more times daily in 2009
- just over a quarter of Americans, 26.3%, ate vegetables three or more times per day
In the objectives set by CDC in its Healthy People, the goals is that 75% of people age 2 and over should eat two or more servings of fruit daily and that 50% eat three or more servings of vegetables on a daily basis.
No wonder obesity remains an epidemic in the United States if this is the case. Also, rates of cancer and other terminal diseases are still increasing. I think it's time that Americans and everyone else in the world include more fruits and vegetables in their diet.
