Ingredient in Magic Mushrooms Eases Anxiety In Terminally-ill Cancer Patients

Every patient suffers from anxiety in one form or another. How much more if a patient is suffering from a terminally-ill cancer?

According to a new study, the hallucinogenic drug found in magic mushrooms – called psilocybin – may help ease anxiety in terminally-ill cancer patients. In the said study, patients who took a small dose of the drug experienced feeling less anxious while their overall mood had tremendously improved.

The patients who used psilocybin for over three months reported that the drug helped them find a new perspective in life and that it made them a lot closer to their family and friends. Then, aside from a slight increase in blood pressure and heart rate, no harsh side effects were found with the use of the drug.
