There is a super expensive wellness spa retreat in Malibu, California called the Ranch at Live Oak. This spa promises that they are different from most other spas, and not just because of the $5,600 a week price tag. One guest accused the spa's staff of starving clients (although they were eating about 1,500 calories a day) at the beginning of her stay. But four days into it she started enjoying herself and wrote that her food cravings had vanished and she felt terrific.
